Title: Senior Research Assistant
- Studied the development of fragile masculinity and co-authored a published article (see Publications).
- Investigated children’s status aspirations and endorsement of gender-based power differentials, analyzed data on RStudio and SPSS, and presented findings at national conferences (see Presentations).
- Supervised a study on children’s power differential awareness, managed all stages of the research project, and prepared data for statistical analyses.
- Researched children’s understanding of identity and non-sexual objectification, conducted virtual interviews, oversaw data cleaning and quality assurance, and analyzed data on JASP.
- Assumed additional role of Junior Lab Manager, supervising daily lab operations, training research assistants, onboarding incoming lab managers, and maintaining local partnerships.

Title: Honors Thesis Student & Research Assistant
- Developed honors thesis project on how different types of gestures (iconic, deictic, or none) alleviate cognitive load and aid children perform better in a memory test, and presented findings at conferences (see Presentations).
- Created a novel gender-identity measurement tool consisting of three continuous scales asking how much one feels like a girl, a boy, and another gender.
- Studied the effect of math anxiety in bilingual and monolingual parents on their children.
- Collected data on children’s gesture-speech synchrony for joint project with Loyola University.
- Designed testing instruments and data collection surveys on Qualtrics, and established relationships with local schools and after-school programs.
Cognition & Development (C&D) Lab, Washington University in St. Louis (2023-2024)
Supervisor: Dr. Lori Markson (PI)
Title: Research Assistant
- Developed framework and materials for a project on children’s sense of the common good.
- Coded 80+ sessions for a project on children’s ability to infer others’ racial attitudes and willingness to discuss race.
- Acted as Interim Lab Manager, responsible for scheduling testing shifts, onboarding new research assistants, and overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Increased recruitment efficacy by implementing templates to speed up communication and scheduling tasks, and translated pamphlets to Spanish, broadening participant pool.
